We are still digging out form the big blizzard, when just around the corner comes another round of snow.  Now they are talking about 10 – 20 inches for today into Wednesday.  Enough already.  I am so over winter.  Let’s hope this new round does not come with more power outages, but that is very likely, because this new storm comes with severe winds.

So putting weather aside, here’s today’s doodle:

My life is hopefully getting back to normal after all the snow, no power, and shoveling, shoveling & more shoveling.  Oh my aching back.  Despite the lack of internet and my frozen computer I was able to keep my daily doodles going.  Today, I have just a quick post for you.  Still trying to see what will happen with getting out of our neighborhood.  Our roads have not been plowed.  Can you also believe that we have another storm on it’s way Tuesday into Wednesday with another 6 – 12 inches of snow on it’s way.

The Snow is messing with my mind.

We lost power after the storm hit (it was on Friday night just after I had prepared my post for Saturday morning) and just got power back in spurts this afternoon (Sunday)  We got more than 20 inches of snow and froze with no heat all weekend.

I had a great Superbowl inspired doodle all set for today (had plenty time on the weekend to work on it) but I think the power outs, numerous spikes, fried my hard drive, so I am unable to pull in the doodles I scanned.  I will try all night, because I have to get today’s doodle loaded.    Today, being Superbowl Sunday we have to have something with Football in mind.

But, for now we are doodless, but  stay tuned.  Hopefully this space will be updated shortly.

This time they were correct.  We are in the midst of this monster storm.  They are calling for 28 to 30 inches of snow.  How in the world will I ever shovel that much snow.  I went out last evening to make a pathway for the dog and it is heavy snow.  I am dreading going out this morning.  What is with this crazy weather?  They say this could be a storm of historic proportions. 

Here’s todays doodle….

Two major snowstorms in one season.  I have not seen that in the 20 years I have lived in DC, but tomorrow we are supposed to get a huge storm with up to 2 feet of snow…. oh my aching back!  The thought of shoveling that much snow is enough to put any one in traction.  But we will deal with it as it happens.  One things for sure, this will be another weekend indoors.  Plenty time to doodle.

So, we woke up yesterday to a beautiful winter wonderland.  All the trees were white.  It was so beautiful, but enough already…. but oh no, this weekend we are expected to get another foot or more of snow.  This is unprecedented for DC (certainly over past 20 year).  We have had big snows in the past, but not this frequently.  It’s still early days, but it does look like a weekend in doors.  Perefct Doodle time.

I loved yesterday’s doodle and I have a few more Picasso style doodles again over the next few days.  Just something different, which I hope you like. 

Now that the nominations are out, I have to start working on my Oscar month doodles….. give me some ideas. 

Oh and we had another snowstorm last night….. look beautiful, but enough already….. wait they are predicting a major storm for the weekend as well.  What a winter.

So today is the day.  The day movie lovers the world over wait patiently for. The day the nominations come out.  This year for the first time I will have had a chance to have seen most of the movies nominated for best picture and there were some good ones this year.  We’ll know bt 8:40 am EST.  Then the countdown to Oscar night will begin.

Watching the Grammy Awards, how could I not be inspired to doodle something crazy inspired by Lady GaGa herself.  Her makeup and outfits are outrageous enough.  She really has given us something to look at.  So I took pen to paper and came up with my own GaGa interpretations.  I will be honest, didn’t watch the entire show, what with the Pro Bowl & Housewives on at the same time.  much channel surfing going down last night.

Next Sunday is mega TV day, with the Superbowl on…. Always a good night, but that’s a week away and before then we have the Oscar Nominations to look out for.  It’s gonna be a great week.

So we got snow and not just the dusting we were told we would get.  It snowed all day nearly 6 inches of the white stuff and it was no more than 17 deg F all day, that’s  -8C to those keeping track.  It is cold cold cold.  The roads are a mess.  Got stuck on the highway where it took 1 hour to get from exit to another.  YUCK is all I can say.  Bring on Spring….. and soon.
